Vacation Rental DescriptionOur 3 bedroom vacation home rental (which was newly furnished in April, 2001) is located in Shell Point, Florida (south of Tallahassee), with all of the comforts of home and within minutes of world-class speckled trout fishing waters. This 1624 sq. ft. modular home is located in gated Paradise Village of Shell Point, with swimming pool and tennis court privileges, and a public beach within walking distance. The home has a large boat dock (with ample room for two boats) on a deep-water canal, which is a minute away and one canal over from the boat launch at the Shell Point Marina.The living quarters feature 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large family area with pool table and big screen TV, dining room, laundry room, screened porch and fully equipped kitchen. These accommodations will sleep 8 people comfortably, and consist of a king size bed, queen size bed, futon bunk bed (double mattress on the bottom and twin on the top), and a futon sleeper sofa in the den. Perfect for a family or a few guys who just want to fish. Shell Point is also a popular destination for windsurfing and sailing, hosting several annual Regattas. Other interests in the immediate area include a beautiful public golf course (Wildwood County Club), which is 10 minutes away, and one of the finest, renowned seafood restaurants anywhere (Angelo’s), which is only 20 minutes away. The Shell Point area is considered to be part of Florida’s forgotten coast. It is a small, quiet community located on the Apalachee Bay that has escaped the fast-lane development that has taken over other areas. You can enjoy the unspoiled and natural beauty of Shell Point, nearby Wakulla Springs State Park, or the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge; yet, you are only 30 minutes from Tallahassee, with its malls, nightclubs and restaurants. If you are interested in fishing (trout, Spanish mackerel, redfish, flounder, grouper, black bass – it’s salt-water fishing, so the list goes on), boating, or just enjoying gorgeous scenery in a totally relaxing atmosphere, we have the place for you.
