Vacation Rental Description

12 minutes from the rural village of Middleburgh 30 miles southwest of Albany, 2 1/2 hours from NYC's George Washington Bridge. On a now unused 19th-century farm, it sits apart on a quiet road high in the hills, a magical place surrounded by old stone walls, woods and solitude. Out back are stream and 80 acres of gorgeous woods and fields. Recently renovated, sleeps 2- 5. Large family room with DVD/VCR; eat-in kitchen with all utensils/spices; bedroom with double bed ( foldout single bed and folding mattress sleep three more); full bath; huge outdoor stone terrace with bbq; backyard stone fireplace. Nice old furnishings, from 1800s heirlooms to classic 1950s kitchen set, and lots of books. You may swim in our next-door spring-fed pond.

●Cobleskill: Howe Caverns, Secret Caverns, Iroquois Museum.
●Cairo: tatskill Game Farm, the Northeast’s favorite zoo (after the Bronx).
● East Durham, heart of the “Irish Catskills,” full of music pubs.
● Sharon Springs: bathing resort on the National Register of Historic Places.
● Rensellaerville: fabulous 19th-century architecture, and the incomparable Palmer House Café, serving local produce.
