Vacation Rental DescriptionCasa Branquina is a two-bedroom villa situated on the very popular, small and privately owned Quinta da Saudade, a mature development set within the grounds of an old Portuguese farmhouse. The Quinta overlooks farmland and the marshes of Pera where there is a wetlands nature reserve with birds such as purple gallinule, spoonbill, flamingos and marsh harrier. The marshes separate the Quinta from the sea about a mile away.The Quinta has two swimming pools, a tennis court and a small, friendly restaurant. It is close to Salgados Golf Course with both Armacao de Pera and Albufeira approximately fifteen minutes away. Since the Summer of 2003, there are now horses at the Quinta which can be hired for hacks or private lessons. The accommodation consists of two bedrooms, one with twin beds and en-suite bathroom and the second with twin beds, adjoining bathroom and door leading to private walled garden. The kitchen is fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, microwave and large fridge/freezer. The villa has satellite television and video. There is a wood burning stove, heated towel rails, wall radiators and electric blankets, making it cosy and warm during the winter months. To the side of the property is a very pretty private walled garden with built-in barbecue, sun loungers, a table and chairs. Leading from the sitting room is a small front terrace with a table and chairs overlooking the hills opposite. There is daily maid service except on Sundays. Linen and towels (apart from beach towels) are provided. For over thirty years the Quinta has been a select holiday destination both in summer and winter and is conveniently situated for attractions such as Silves (the old Moorish capital), Monchique (the highest point of the Algarve), Cape St Vincent and the old town of Faro. Electricity and wood are charged as extras during the winter months. An extra bed or cot can be provided at a charge of ý25 a week throughout the year.
