Davenport is a rapidly developing area in Polk County, with some of the development being fueled by the proximity of the area to Walt Disney World, Sea World and the other attractions in close by Orlando. A good deal of land near to Davenport has been zoned for short term and vacation rental development, and many of the properties are bought by British residents who then rent them out to British tourists who are coming for a vacation in the area. Davenport vacation rentals have become increasingly popular with tourists, especially families, who are finding that a vacation rental proves a cost effective alternative to the traditional hotels in the Orlando / International Drive area.
